Newcastle After Wellbeck?

on Tue 24 Jul 2018, 12:23 pm
Rumour - Newcastle after Danny Wellbeck.

The news outlet claims that Welbeck, 27, is not on Unai Emery’s long-term plans at the Emirates and Newcastle are plotting to offer him the chance of first team football at St James’ Park.

It is understood that as the Magpies are low on transfer funds, they are planning to sign the England international on a loan deal, however he is on wages of over £100,000-a-week and the Gunners would rather sell him on a permanent basis.

Good move for Newcastle?

Welbeck has really struggled in the last few years of his career as he has been pretty much a fringe player for both Manchester United and Arsenal.

However, although he is not viewed as being cut out for the top six Premier League sides, he could be a very handy addition for a team like Newcastle, who need a new centre-forward and could supply a lot of chances with their creative midfielders.

Welbeck still managed to score 10 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions last season for the Gunners, with only 24 of them being starts.

If he was to regularly feature in Rafa Benitez’s starting line-up, he could be a surprise package.

Everton & West Ham After Hinteregger

on Tue 24 Jul 2018, 12:26 pm
Everton are joined by Premier League rivals West Ham in plotting a swoop for Augsburg centre back Martin Hinteregger this summer, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claim that the Toffees are eyeing up the 25-year-old in a bid to bolster the heart of their defence, with the roles currently filled by the ageing Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka, as well as Michael Keane, who was unconvincing in his first season at Goodison Park.

It is stated that the 31 cap Austrian international has a price tag of just £13million on his head and that despite reported interest from Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan, the defender is desperate to prove himself in England’s top flight instead.
