Huddersfield back in the Top Flight

on Tue 30 May 2017, 8:25 am
Huddersfield Town return to the top division for the first time since the 1970's with a penalty shoot out win over Reading in the Championship play off final.

Town certainly looked the better team in the first half and had a couple of chances to open the scoring but failed to hit the target when they should have. Reading played better in the second half but it was Town that always looked the more likely team to score but it didn't happen. Extra Time was a damp squib of two tired teams whose energy levels had been sapped and so it went to the lottery of penalties which saw Town come out on top.
