The Fight To Stay In The Football League

on Mon 17 Apr 2017, 12:41 pm
There are four games left which is twelve points and as it stands Orient who are bottom need to win all four games and hope for a miracle of results going their way. They face Hartlepool United who are 3rd from bottom and just out of the relegation zone knowing a loss and they will be in the National League next season.

Second bottom are Newport County and they are on a mini run to survive. They have won their last three games and now find themselves just one point from third bottom Hartlepool. Unfortunately they are away to Plymouth Argyle today and a win for Plymouth guarantees promotion to League One, so not an easy game.

Fourth bottom and still in the mix are Cheltenham. They are at home to Grimsby who mathematically could still make the play-offs. A win here though could just help move them away from that drop zone.

An interesting day at the bottom then and will the picture be any clearly this evening other than Orient if they lose.

Down to the last match and Orient are down and only Newport County & Hartlepool are left to decide the last relegation spot.

Hartlepool, currently in the relegation spot, are at home to promoted Doncaster Rovers.
Newport are at home to mid table Notts County.
